MTO vs. Standard Product?

Your friends at LTW Ergonomic Solutions have many standard products to suit your needs, but there are times when you need some extra assistance figuring out the best solution for your hard-working team.  This “hot off the press” MTO product is one such example of what LTW is capable of.  This customer had a need for raising the worker to a large machine (to be located in the center) with access required on three sides.

This customer sees the value of ergonomics in the workplace which includes:

  • Preventing Injuries: By decreasing the level of repetition and awkward postures in the workplace, risk factors that lead to unnecessary discomfort and major MSD (musculoskeletal disorder) injuries can be prevented.  Our platforms allow customization of level of work space to accomplish this task.
  • Prevents Fines & Penalties by Government-Regulated Health & Safety Inspections (including OSHA): Some industries have industry-specific safety guidelines. Regardless, employers are obligated under the General Duty Clause, Section 5 (a)(1) to keep the workplace free from recognized serious hazards, including ergonomic ones.
  • Reduces Worker Compensation & Healthcare Costs: OSHA statistics reveal that workers’ compensation expenses cost businesses $15-$20 billion each year. To make matters more expensive, the Institute of Medicine estimates that the total annual economic burden resulting from workplace MSDs adds up to $45 to $54 billion.
  • Improves Operator Output Quality: Poor ergonomics and low job satisfaction lead to frustrated and fatigued workers that can’t perform their best work. When a task is physically taxing, production quality takes a quick downturn.  By providing an ergonomic workspace, morale is improved, employee retention is increased, and better productivity is appreciated.

LTW Ergonomic Solutions is able to deliver a large variety of standard products in a shorter lead-time with reduced cost and price point when compared to MTO (Made To Order) products.  We welcome any opportunity to assist you in meeting your ergo needs.
