Tilt CoBase™
Choose the perfect working height and angle for your robot with the height-and-tilt-adjustable Tilt CoBase™.
Maximize your Cobot’s efficiency and ergonomics, changing its height and angle with the touch of a button! With 3″ square steel tubing and an electric actuator system, LTW’s cobot table provides industrial ergonomics to workplaces like yours across the globe.
Height Adjustable + Tilting Robot Table
For applications where an operator works with a robot, completing these tasks at an improper working height can result in back strain and injury.
Add height adjustability and tilted angles to your robot work with the Tilt CoBase™. With the touch of a button, industrial electric actuators lift the entire robot station to the operator’s perfect working height. This enables the operator to work comfortably and efficiently, increasing productivity and safety.
Collaborative robots, or “cobots,” are designed to safely work alongside humans in shared workspaces without protective cages. With all that a collaborative robot is capable of, LTW wants to maximize the robot-human collaboration. Our CoBase™ gives the individual who interfaces with the robot a workspace that is accurate to their working height. This is critical in companies that have multiple people working at the station over time, especially in situations with multiple staff changeouts in a given day.
Mounting a robot onto the table is easy and fast. LTW can customize the CoBase™ to your specific robot make and model. Each table features a custom robot control box mounting system, keeping every component of organized and on the mobile table.
Common Tilt CoBase™ Uses
Robots and collaborative robots are used and need heightened ergonomics across many industries and tasks, including:
Manufacturing: Assembly, quality control
Electronics & Technology: Handling delicate components, soldering, and precise assembly
Automotive: Assembly, bolt driving, inspection, and material handling
Machining: Welding, machine tending, and material removal (see also this height adjustable welding table)
Why is height adjustability important?
Working with robots often requires repetitive tasks. Done at improper heights or angles, this can quickly lead to hazards like accidents, back pain, and time off the job.
LTW’s height adjustable industrial tables help to increase safety by enabling people to adjust their table to their perfect working height. This reduces the risk of musculoskeletal disorders and increases productivity, efficiency, and work quality.
FAQ
Q: How much weight can the Tilt CoBase™ lift?
A: The LTW CoBase™ has a lift capacity of 2000lb, making it suitable for supporting heavy robots and their applications, while still allowing smooth electric height adjustment.
Q: Can this be used with standard, non-collaborative robots?
A: Yes! We can customize the Tilt CoBase™ to your robot’s exact needs. Note that standard robots often require protective barriers, while collaborative robots are designed to work safely alongside humans.
Q: Does the Tilt CoBase™ come with a robot?
A: No, LTW does not sell robots or collaborative robots.

New to Cobots?
Professors Edward Colgate and Michael Peshkin of Northwestern University are the brains behind the idea of “cobots,” a broad class of collaborative robots. Check out our Cobot article here! “Collaborative robots (also called co-bots) are designed to work alongside human workers, assisting them with a variety of tasks. Because co-bots are affordable, highly adaptable, and almost plug-and-play, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are eager to adopt this technology, and some analysts (myself included) expect this segment will see massive growth in the next few years.
“There are many reasons for the emergence of collaborative robots: companies are using them because they can be placed alongside humans in small-spaced electronics assembly lines, because they are affordable and easily trainable, and because they are flexible to handle short runs, repetitive and boring jobs, and ergonomically challenging tasks.” – Frank Tobe
Robotics Distributors
The CoBase is sold both directly and through distribution networks at distributor pricing. If you are a robotics customer and already have a distributor, ask them about the CoBase! If they don’t already sell CoBases, they can easily become a distributor by following the instructions linked below. If you don’t have a distributor yet, simply fill out the form at the bottom of this page and we’ll design a CoBase just for you!
If you are a robotics distributor, we’d love to help you sell more robots by offering your customers a height adjustable and industrial table that is designed specifically around each robot/cobot brand and model. Click here to apply to become an LTW CoBase Distributor!
“UR cobots get mobile”
FABTECH was also the launch pad for the CoBase, which debuted at the UR booth. Developed by LTW Ergonomic Solutions (LTW), a leader in ergonomically adjustable machine bases, operator platforms, and workstations, the CoBase maximizes Universal Robots’ efficiency and ergonomics.
A touch of a button changes the table height or angle to maximize the ergonomics between the operator and the robot, and this mobile table allows for easy transport of the UR cobot between tasks in high-mix/low-volume production environments.
The CoBase has custom mounts for the controller box and cable, a custom bolt pattern for easy installation of any UR model, and a built-in 110-V power outlet, so end users only need a single wall outlet to power the entire CoBase solution.
Originally built as a tilt table for a Tier 1 automotive supplier’s robotic inspection of bulky items, the CoBase is now ready to be rolled out to all users of UR cobots in need of a mobile, flexible automation solution. “Our goal is to provide a place for everything that comes with a UR cobot, fitting it all directly onto the frame of the CoBase,” said John Lanphear, president of LTW.
